The following pictures were
taken of Hypnobirthing moms during various stages of labor.
Notice
how relaxed and tranquil our Hypnobirthing mothers are!
# 1
This a 18 hear old Michelle with her birth companion (her mother) during a
surge. Michele was in labor approximately two and and one half hours at the
time.

# 2 Michele,
maintaining deep relaxation between surges.

# 3
Michelle in the last major uterine surge before going into Stage 2.

# 4 The uterine wave
that Michelle experienced in photo # 3 beings to register on the monitor.
Michelle's baby boy was born minutes later after only 3 + hours of absolutely
painless labor.

# 5 Jackie, who
couldn't even talk of labor without crying when she first came to the classes,
became thoroughly convinced. Jackie chose to sit and read during the early
stage of active labor.

# 6 Jackie, now in bed
and maintaining relaxation during end of first stage of labor, David giving her
prompts through a surge.

# 7 David and Cheryl -
David giving Cheryl relaxation prompts toward the end of late first stage labor.
Cheryl asked that David stop using the prompt of their being at the beach - her
body was getting clammy with her natural rise in temperature, and she could feel
the sand sticking to her shoulders.

# 8 Cheryl minutes
later, pushing through a comfortable, 25 minute second stage (longest ever for
Hypnobirthing moms.) Her comment - "Oh Mickey, don't get my face!
My hair is a wreck!" Pushing was mother directed rather than
"coached" by a yelling staff. (Moms no longer push through
second stage.)

# 9
Cheryl, David and baby Jonathan - additional family bonding, 10 minutes later.
